僕が前から持っていたイギリスの旅行ガイド
INSIGHT GUIDES 「GREAT BRITAIN」
Open Universityの年に 1回のレジデンシャルスクールの
案内メールが先日 Open Universityから届きました。
開催は来年一月なのですがもう受付が始まりました。
ロンドン近郊とか、オックスフォードとか、ベルギーとか、
アイルランドのダブリンとか
いくつかの候補の中から自分で選ぶことができるんですが、
僕はこの街を選びたいと思ってます！
そうです、産業革命の中心都市。
長い間、人類の進歩に大きく貢献した歴史的な街。
その名は「マンチェスター」
前に買っておいた 美しい写真がたくさん載っている
英語の旅行ガイド「INSIGHT GUIDES GREAT BRITAIN」を
パラパラ見てみましたが、世界で最初に産業革命を成し遂げ、
かつて全盛期に“7つの海”を支配しただけあって、
イギリスという国の歴史には重みがありますね。
ロンドンに次ぐ、イギリス第二の都市 マンチェスター。
イングランド・サッカー国内リーグ最多の優勝を誇る
“赤い悪魔” マンチェスター・ユナイテッドの本拠地としても有名です！
マンチェスターはかつて綿織物の貿易で栄え、
蒸気機関車を使った世界最初の営業鉄道が走ったのも
ここマンチェスターなのです。
昔、大阪が「東洋のマンチェスター」と呼ばれていたことを
皆さん知っていますか？当時、マンチェスターがいかに
活気があり、繁栄していたかが偲ばれます。
イギリス人や世界中から集まったの仲間と一緒に
マンチェスターで勉強をする自分を夢見て、
一刻も早く英語をしゃべれるように努力します！
まだ英語話せないのに
申し込んじゃっても、大丈夫なのでしょうかｗ

I received a guidance mail which was to encourage the participation of a residential school once a year from the Open University. It's to start booking it though this school will open next January.
I can choice a location such as neighborhood of London, oxford, Belgium, dublin in Ireland from a few site proposed. I would like to choice this city.
Yes, that place was a center of the Industrial Revolution and have contributed progress on human being for a couple of hundred years. Manchester is her name.
I paged through a English travel book titled "INSIGHT GUIDES GREAT BRITAIN" with many attractive photos which I bought before. Britain has a heavy burden of history, having accomplished the first industrial revolution in the world and ruling the Seven Seas in her prime.
She's the second biggest city after London in Britain, and is famous for the hometown of Manchester United Football Club, The red devils, which achieved the most championships in the domestic leagues.
She flourished in the cotton textile trade once. It was Manchester where the world's first commercial railway with steam-locomotives was running. Do you know that Osaka was formerly called "Manchester of the East"？ We can remember that she had vibrant atmosphere and prospered in those day.
I make an effort to study English language as soon as possible with dream of studying myself in Manchester with some colleagues in Britain and around the world！
But, I still can't speak English well. Can I make a schdule？ Am I OK？
